Born in Erzurum, Operator Doctor Taha Sönmez completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in his hometown with honors.
Education and Specialization
He pursued his medical degree at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, graduating as a medical doctor between 2007 and 2013. Following this, he began his specialization training in Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the esteemed Istanbul Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department. His comprehensive training covered a wide spectrum of procedures, including aesthetics, microsurgery, congenital anomalies, burn treatment, facial fractures, hand surgery, tissue transplantation, head and neck surgery, neuromuscular transplants, and various surgical and non-surgical plastic surgery techniques.
Thesis and Board Certification
In 2018, Dr. Sonmez successfully presented his experimental study thesis. The thesis focused on evaluating ischemic damage using Pentoxifylline and N-Acetylcysteine, both singularly and in combination, within a rat model relevant to tissue transplantation research (Inferior Epigastric Island Flap venous ischemia model). Upon completion and thesis presentation, he was awarded the title of Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist.
